The People and Principles

Balkin Nutrition was built with a clear vision in mind: that brands shouldn't have to compromise on science just because they don't have an in-house product development team. Working with some of the fastest-growing businesses in functional food, beverage and supplements, we kept seeing the same thing: brilliant concepts stalling because the formulation wasn't solid, the regulatory picture wasn't clear, or the supply chain couldn't support the claim on the label. That gap is exactly what we're here to close, working alongside brands as an expert partner so the product that reaches market is one you can be proud of, and one that delivers.

Matthew’s passion for nutrition has driven over nine years of hands on experience with some of the industry’s most respected brands, including Huel, Bakkavour (Greencore), and HBI Laleham.  Across those years, he worked across the full product lifecycle: developing high efficacy formulations, navigating complex multi market regulatory environments, and building ingredient supply chains that could genuinely support the claims on the label. It is that breadth of experience, scientific, commercial and operational, that forms the foundation of everything Balkin Nutrition delivers.
 

What Matthew brings to a project goes beyond expertise. He combines scientific rigour with attention to detail and a genuine drive to make your product work, with a focus on doing it right for the brand, the product, and the people using it.
